Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog. I live in the suburbs of Indianapolis with my wonderful husband of twenty two years and my two beautiful daughters who are sixteen and eighteen. In addition to writing my blog, I lead a Bible study at my church, am treasurer of the board and serve as the forwarding agent for Ministry Care, and have published my first book, Pouring In, Tipping the Scales in Favor of a Personal, Passionate, and Permanent Faith in Your Kids, which is now available. Praise God for His faithfulness!
The purpose of this blog is to encourage believers in Christ to think outside of the “spiritual box,” to accept themselves if they are “the weirdos” or don’t fit in, to live radically for the cause of Christ, and to actively and intentionally pass on their faith to their children.
I ask questions
I wonder aloud
I stand with those who live on the fringe of the Christian faith
I speak for those who don’t quite fit the mold
I acknowledge the tension of living in a broken and fallen world.
I walk with God as I write.
Jesus has a special place in his heart for the outcasts and the unaccepted, I’m convinced. After all, He was an outcast.
Truly following Christ can result in grief, sorrow, or depression, as well as extreme joy and rejoicing. With these intense emotions comes a necessary depth. And once you go down to the deep, you will never be satisfied with the shore again.
Life with Christ isn’t meant to be lived on the surface. There is a whole ocean below if we are willing to dive in. Jesus challenges us to . . . . “put out into deep water” (Luke 5:4).
I am a Stranger Things fanatic because the characters are weirdos, nerds, or just plain “different.” These are my people. If you are “the weird one,” you are in good company here.
I would rather go broke, foolishly, giving everything away to the cause of Christ than live a life of safety and comfort that risks nothing for the Kingdom of God.
Blessings to you,
